This is a hands‑on cloud engineering role focused on building, automating, and maintaining Azure infrastructure in a multi‑tenant, research-driven environment. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can manage complex cloud systems independently, collaborate across institutions, and support both current workloads and net‑new research initiatives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Manage and support Azure environments segmented by subscriptions and lines of business.
• Build and deploy net-new Azure resources, including servers and VDI environments for research teams.
• Respond to infrastructure tickets related to builds, access, and cloud resource requests.
• Use Terraform to template and provision Azure infrastructure.
• Perform heavy scripting, primarily in PowerShell (Python is a strong plus).
• Support Azure budgeting and cost optimization within subscriptions.
• Ensure cloud servers are available, online, patched, and monitored.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, in a highly collaborative DevOps environment.
• Support Azure networking services in a large-scale, multi-tenant environment.
• Assist with expanding DevOps capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud automation.
• Support new programs and research initiatives (e.g., AVD, cloud architecture builds).
• Work independently with minimal micromanagement.
