Job Description
The National Health Law Program (NHeLP) is seeking a Temporary Finance & Administrative Coordinator to provide administrative and finance support to our Finance and Accounting team during a temporary staffing transition.
This position supports a variety of day-to-day financial and administrative processes that help ensure financial information is processed accurately, documentation is organized, and routine accounting activities are completed in a timely manner. The Coordinator works closely with the Finance Director, Director of Accounting, and Senior Finance & Administration Manager to support the organization's daily financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities
• Process employee expense reimbursements and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Coordinate vendor invoice approvals and prepare invoices for payment processing.
• Assist with monthly revenue tracking and reconciliations.
• Support budget tracking for organizational meetings, trainings, and retreats.
• Enter routine financial information into accounting systems and Excel spreadsheets.
• Assist with grant budget setup, bank reconciliations, and maintaining organized financial records.
• Provide general administrative and finance support to the Finance and Accounting team and assist with other projects as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
• One to three years of experience in finance support, accounting support, bookkeeping, or administrative coordination.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience working with accounting software; Sage Intacct experience is a plus, but not required.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.

Required Skills & Experience
1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Strong understanding of general accounting principles
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working within a nonprofit or legal organization
Familiarity with grant accounting and fund tracking
Experience supporting audits or financial reviews
