Job Description

A global manufacturing company is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to support strategic delivery initiatives across IT and financial operations. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the cost reduction and transformation initiatives. This includes managing multiple workstreams such as stranded cost elimination, AI-driven role optimization, external spend reduction, app rationalization, vendor governance, and IT operating model transformation. The PM will ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while driving measurable business outcomes. The PM will be responsible for understanding and forecasting the financial impacts of these projects to the current budget. This is a 12 month contract with the possibility of conversion and requires 3-4 days a week onsite in Wilmington, DE.

Key Responsibilities:
· Lead cross-functional teams to deliver cost take-out initiatives, including internal role optimization, external spend reduction, app rationalization, and technology transformation.
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for each lever.
· Act as a co-solution partner to leadership, identifying gaps and proposing actionable solutions.
· Track and report on progress, risks, and value capture against targets
· Coordinate with initiative leaders and key stakeholders across the IT organization.
· Coordinate with the IT vendor governance team on contract analysis, renewals, and performance reviews.
· Ensure compliance with the client's PMO governance standards, cost control practices, and processes.
· Identify and mitigate risks to on-time, in-full value capture.
· Prepare and present regular status updates and milestone reports to IT leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

· 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in IT transformation, cost reduction, or large-scale change initiatives.
· Proven track record managing cross-functional teams and complex projects from inception to completion.
· Experience with cost control systems, and project budgeting.
· Familiarity with vendor management, contract analysis, and performance monitoring.
· Strong leadership and team-building skills; ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
· Analytical mindset with experience in financial modeling, cost analysis, and value tracking.
· Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
· Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SAP, Excel).
· Change management expertise and ability to drive adoption of new operating models.
· Demonstrated ability to “get things done” with a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Prior experience at working at large consulting firms
