Job Description
A global manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled IT PMO Lead to join their team. Working within the enterprise IT organization, this individual will be responsible for standing up and running the PMO program. The ideal candidate should have proven experience establishing and running an enterprise PMO, should have experience with continuous and process improvement initiatives, and should have a strong overall background in IT project and program management. This is an immediate, full-time role, and will require 4 days a week onsite in Wilmington, DE.
Additional Details:
PMO Leadership & Operations
· Establish and run the IT PMO, including charter, methodology, standards, and core processes.
· Operate intake, prioritization, readiness review, and governance routines with continuous improvement.
· Maintain the enterprise IT portfolio with visibility into health, risks, dependencies, resource needs, and strategic alignment.
· Provide decision-ready portfolio insights for IT leadership and governance forums.
· In collaboration with the Responsible AI manager and IT strategy team, embed Responsible AI governance by ensuring intake and governance workflows include RAI criteria (risk classification, privacy, fairness, compliance checks) as relevant.
· Tight coordination with Enterprise Architecture for tech fit, standards, reusable patterns, and architecture runway alignment.
· Partnership with Cybersecurity for risk reviews, security gating, privacy checkpoints, etc.
· Maintaining delivery quality frameworks (SDLC alignment, documentation completeness, testing readiness, cutover plans).
Intake, Prioritization & Portfolio Management
· Manage end-to-end intake to ensure initiatives are well-defined, aligned, and ready for prioritization.
· Apply prioritization criteria that reflect strategic alignment, resource constraints, architectural fit, and Responsible AI considerations.
· Partner across IT in assessing initiative readiness and risk.
· Maintain accurate, timely, and transparent portfolio reporting reflecting both delivery and RAI compliance posture.
Delivery Governance & Execution Discipline
· Enforce PMO methodology and governance across initiatives (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
· Oversee risk, dependency, change control, and quality processes for consistent execution. Escalating systemic delivery issues and driving remediation plans.
· Manage project resource planning (capacity, capability, timelines).
· Conduct delivery and compliance audits—including applicable Responsible AI controls for data, model usage, transparency, and safeguards.
· Facilitate governance forums, steercos, and escalation paths with clarity of decisions and follow‑ups.
Enablement & Delivery Capability Development
· Coach PMs and contractors on PMO standards, governance expectations, and delivery best practices.
· Promote adoption of tools, templates, automation, and repeatable processes to improve execution maturity.
· Support workforce and capability planning aligned to future PMO and portfolio needs.
· Partner with the Responsible AI Manager to ensure teams understand RAI guardrails, approval processes, and documentation requirements.
Strategic Alignment & Value Delivery
· Translate enterprise priorities into actionable plans within the strategic initiative portfolio.
· Monitor at-risk or high-priority initiatives and drive corrective actions.
· Ensure initiatives deliver measurable value, business outcomes, and compliance with IT governance and Responsible AI principles.
· Provide insights to improve alignment between investments, portfolio choices, and enterprise strategy.
Metrics, KPIs & Performance Management
· Define and track KPIs for intake efficiency, delivery performance, portfolio health, and PMO effectiveness.
· Measure benefits realization, business impact, and alignment to strategic objectives.
· Build automated dashboards and reports using Power Platform or similar tools.
· Include Responsible AI KPIs, such as RAI review completion, model risk classification, adherence to required approvals, and RAI exception management where applicable.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership
· Build, mentor, and support PMO team members to drive execution excellence.
· Ensure strong communication, alignment, and expectation‑setting across IT towers, partners, and business stakeholders.
· Serve as a connector between delivery teams, architecture, security, the Responsible AI Manager, and business stakeholders.
Tools, Systems & Automation
· Own PMO tools and ensure integration with enterprise IT systems for consistent reporting and data accuracy.
· Utilize automation and low-code platforms to streamline PMO workflows, portfolio management, and RAI-related process checkpoints.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT Project and Program Management (infrastructure, application development, data science, networking, etc.)
- Proven experience establishing, formalizing, and standing up an enterprise PMO and experience implementing continuous improvement efforts
- Strong experience with enterprise project management tools and reporting tools (co-pilot, power automate, power BI, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Very strong communication skills (written and verbal) and experience working with both technical and functional stakeholders and leadership
