Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Technologist with specialized expertise in flow cytometry to support the development and launch of a new pediatric flow cytometry laboratory within a health system in Delaware. This role is pivotal in shaping the lab’s foundational processes and will involve close remote collaboration with the lab manager to establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), training protocols, and quality assurance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Development & SOP Creation
Collaborate with the manager to design and document SOPs for:
Marker selection and panel design
Staining protocols and workflows
Verification reagents and controls
Titration procedures and optimization
Instrument calibration and maintenance
Training & Education
Assist in guiding lab staff on best practices for:
Flow cytometry theory and applications
Reagent titration and validation
Data analysis and interpretation
Troubleshooting and quality control
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all procedures meet regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP)
Participate in internal audits and process reviews
Support documentation for validation and verification studies
Technical Expertise
Provide guidance on instrument selection and setup
Recommend best practices for pediatric sample handling and processing
Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in flow cytometry

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or related field (Master’s preferred)
ASCP certification or equivalent strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a Clinical Flow Cytometry lab
Proven ability to communicate day-to-day processes surrounding SOPs and training programs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork
