Job Description

We’re hiring an Engineer/Project Manager to join one of our clients in Newark, DE for a full-time, permanent role. This hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/2 remote) offers a blend of project management (50%), analysis (30%), research (10%), and field troubleshooting (10%). We're looking for professionals with hands-on experience in water treatment plant design and upgrades, pump/lift stations, elevated storage tanks, and related infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll support the planning, design, analysis, and execution of water and wastewater engineering projects spanning water supply, treatment, pumping, distribution, and collection systems. You’ll collaborate closely with Senior Engineers, assist with design development, perform technical analysis, process data, support modeling efforts, prepare documentation, and help manage project budgets and schedules. You’ll also participate in planning meetings, coordinate with internal teams, support construction activities, conduct site visits, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing and evaluating engineering systems and project components.
• Prepare technical documents, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Develop and review project budgets, schedules, and resource forecasts.
• Produce engineering plans and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
• Conduct research, compile findings, and develop supporting reports.
• Analyze data, evaluate alternatives, and prepare design documents.
• Coordinate construction submittals, deliverables, and contract compliance.
• Work with GIS/Survey teams to gather necessary data for planning, design and permitting of projects.
• Review proposals and outside consultant design submissions.
• Support development of SOPs and maintain strong regulatory knowledge.
• Engage with regulatory agencies as needed and pursue ongoing professional development (trainings, certifications, PE licensure, etc.)
• Perform other relevant duties as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 5 years of experience as an engineer and/or project manager in the water sector
• Direct experience with water/wastewater engineering projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• PE (Professional Engineer) license
• EIT (Engineer in Training) certification
