A client of Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Budget Accountant to join their finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work schedule (remote with 1-2 days in office a week) from 8am to 4:30pm.
The ideal candidate will assist with the preparation, managing and monitoring of the budgeting processes while possessing analytical skills and a foundational understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget Planning & Preparation:
a) Collaborate with department heads & project managers to prepare and manage annual budgets.
b) Maintain and monitor detailed budget reports, forecasts, and projections.
c) Review and analyze spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
2. Financial Analysis & Reporting:
a) Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget variance reports, identifying discrepancies and providing explanations for variances.
b) Monitor actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, highlighting areas of concern.
3. Cost Control & Monitoring:
a) Track and analyze operational costs to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
b) Review financial data to ensure that spending aligns with the departments budget constraints and provide support in adjusting forecasts as needed.
4. Compliance & Documentation:
a) Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls regarding budgeting processes.
b) Maintain detailed records and documentation of all budgeting activities and decisions for auditing purposes.
5. Collaboration & Support:
a) Work closely with other departments to understand budget needs.
b) Assist in the development of financial strategies to improve budget efficiency.
6. Perform any other appropriate functions as needed
Compensation:
$76,000 to $82,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
Experience with accounting software (knowledge of ERP systems).
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and variances.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong communication interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
