Insight Global is seeking an IT Portfolio Manager for a leading client in the insurance industry. This individual will be responsible for driving governance, strategic alignment, and execution across a complex IT portfolio. The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently and aligned with business goals. This person will partner closely with executive stakeholders, manage financial performance, optimize resource allocation, and enhance portfolio maturity through strong governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a 12-month contract with potential to convert to permanent.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, program management, or IT governance
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT organizations and how they operate within a corporate environment
• Experience working in highly regulated industries
• Proven ability to manage complex portfolios across multiple projects, stakeholders, and business units
• Demonstrated success delivering programs on time, within budget, and aligned to scope
• Solid financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, and business case development
• Experience with IT governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
• Background supporting audits and working in regulated environments (e.g., SOX, DORA)
• Ability to operate strategically while staying hands-on at the operational level
• Experience managing cross-functional and global teams, including indirect reports and third-party vendors
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to hold teams accountable and maintain structure and discipline
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in matrixed/global organizations with cross-department collaboration
• Vendor management, sourcing, and contract oversight experience
• Background building or enhancing PMO or portfolio management best practices
• Insurance or reinsurance industry experience
