Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join a manufacturing and renewable energy company that specializes in Hydrogen Fuel cells. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design, integration, and validation of complex technological systems. This role involves collaboration across engineering disciplines and product management to define and meet system-level requirements. The engineer will perform tasks such as dynamic modeling, failure mode analysis, control synthesis, and compliance testing. The position requires a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The engineer will also play a key role in mentoring team members and driving cross-functional collaboration to achieve superior results.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field with 6–8+ years of experience (or equivalent MS/PhD experience).
• Strong proficiency in systems engineering tasks including modeling, analysis, and validation.
○ Proficiency with gPROMS plant modeling software.
• Experience with requirements management and compliance assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve technical variances using root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
Proven ability to work independently and manage complex components of large projects.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience in fuel cell design engineering.
• Familiarity with control systems requirements (e.g., undershoot, overshoot, settling time).
• Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques like DIVE, Fault Tree, Red X, and Seven Diamonds.
• Experience working with global, cross-functional teams.
Strong focus on talent development and team motivation.
