Job Description
A leading global consumer products company focused on providing personal care solutions that help people look, feel, and live their best life is looking for a Packaging Production Graphic Designer to join the Production Services team in Shelton, CT. They will be responsible for developing high-quality digital packaging assets and production-ready mechanical artwork across a portfolio of brands. This role partners closely with Production Services, Design, and Marketing teams to deliver accurate, consistent, and brand-aligned packaging solutions in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This is a hybrid position, onsite Tuesday-Thursday, and is an ongoing contract dependent on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create digital packaging images of products from final packaging mechanicals, incorporating multi-angle product photography across cartons, bottles, aerosol cans, film pouches, shrink sleeves, and displays.
- Generate realistic packaging renders using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Esko Studio.
- Create packaging mechanical executions, ensuring creative adaptation, design continuity, communication hierarchy, and graphic consistency across formats, sizes, and decoration methods.
- Adapt and interpret Marketing Graphic Briefs into compelling package design executions that meet brand and design objectives.
- Design and execute production across multiple brand portfolios and regions, managing multiple languages, translations, and print converters.
- Partner with Production Services managers and design teams to manage deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply SKU metadata and standardized nomenclature for package image tagging, formatting, uploading, and management within Blue System digital asset library.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite – highly proficient in Illustrator, superior Photoshop skills.
- Strong knowledge in color correction and digital retouching for packaging image development and finalization.
- Ability to source and reformat for multiple file formats. Distribute assets as required through various platforms including utilization of File share, BLUE software system.
- High proficiency in the development and execution of packing artwork mechanicals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communications OR relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination for education and experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a designer/graphic/production artist in packaging design environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with strong interpersonal skill set.
- Manage high volume workload
- Ability to trouble shoot and assess integrity of incoming agency designs and files, correct and translate technical requirements for appropriate layout builds.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external partners (packaging prepress firms/printers).
- Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of deliverables and executions.
- Motivated Self-starter. Able to change priorities with sense of urgency.
- Positive, proactive, enthusiastic team player.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Familiar with Esko Studio Advanced.
- CPG experience.
- Knowledge of printing processes in design development and prepress requirements – offset, dry offset, silkscreen, flexography, digital and, letterpress, combination, and gravure printing.
