IT Configuration Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a 6 month contract, possible conversion to perm, Configuration Manager to oversee the integrity and consistency of configuration items (CIs) within our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) for $35-$40 an hour. This role is critical to ensuring accurate representation of IT assets and their relationships, supporting key IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as incident, problem, and change management.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the CMDB to ensure all configuration items (CIs) are accurately recorded and linked to corresponding IT assets.
Collaborate closely with the IT Asset Manager to align asset and configuration management practices.
Define, implement, and enforce configuration management policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
Monitor and report on CMDB health and performance metrics to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Ensure end-to-end tracking of configuration items from procurement through decommissioning.
Support ITSM processes by providing accurate CI data to facilitate effective incident, problem, and change management.
Conduct regular audits of the CMDB and automated discovery tools to validate data accuracy and completeness.

Must-haves

5-7 years of professional experience in IT Configuration
Experience maintaining and updating the CMDB (Configuration Management Database or Configuration Items (CIs), which stores information about all the IT assets), ensuring that all configuration items are accurately represented and linked to assets.
Experience defining and implementing configuration management policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
Experience performing regular audits of the CMDB and discovery data feeds to ensure the integrity of CI records.
