Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Writer to support our client’s Service and Repair Team within their cutting-edge Robotics Department. This role is ideal for an entry- to mid-level professional with a passion for clear communication and a knack for translating complex technical processes into user-friendly documentation.
You will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical work instructions that guide field engineers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced robotic systems. These documents will be authored using XML-based tools such as MadCap Flare and Adobe FrameMaker, so experience with at least one XML authoring platform is essential.
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical work instructions and repair manuals for robotic equipment.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, and product teams to gather technical information and ensure accuracy.
- Use XML authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker) to create structured, modular documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and supports usability in the field.
- Participate in document reviews and incorporate feedback from subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Maintain version control and manage updates to existing documentation as products evolve.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related technical science field.
- 1–3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a manufacturing, robotics, or engineering environment.
- Proficiency with at least one XML-based authoring tool (MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with robotics systems, mechanical components, or field service operations.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers and technical staff.
- Understanding of content management systems (CMS) and version control practices.
