Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Office Engineer with over 4 years of experience to join a consultant engineering firm that works with large transportation clients like the CT DOT. They would be reviewing daily inspection reports, computations, and related documentation. Receiving and archiving project documentation; submittals, RFIs, memos, letters, construction orders, estimates, and shop drawings. Reviewing and evaluating contractor compliance documents: insurance, subcontractor approvals, wage checks, and labor reports to ensure conformance with required policies and procedures. Logging and monitoring material testing, certification and acceptance for the project work. Assisting in the documentation of item pay quantities and development of the payment estimates. Maintaining as-built drawings as project work progresses and drafting contract Change Orders, accurately track change order payments. Preparing and distributing project meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and action item list. Preparing administrative reports, final estimates, and construction closeout documents. Performing site inspections as needed to obtain field measurements, verify project records.

Must Haves:
-4+ years as an office engineer or equivalent experience in the field

Required Skills & Experience

-Experience with CTDOT, or firm performing civil construction project work
-Bachelor's in civil engineering or construction management or an NICET3
-Ability to read and understand complex construction plans, and specifications
-Must be able to write detailed daily inspection reports and perform complex quantity and engineering calculations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Knowledgeable of CTDOT Standard Specifications Form 818, and the CTDOT Construction Manual
-Experienced with using AASHTOWare and COMPASS for construction management and document control.
-Experience working on federally funded projects
