Job Description

A leading global consumer products company focused on providing personal care solutions that help people look, feel, and live their best life is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to assist operations in their Electrical Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex automated equipment and control system used in high-volume production. The role blends hands-on engineering, advanced PLC/HMI programming, servo and vision technology integration, and full lifecycle project leadership. This person will serve as the technical expert for plant equipment, drive cost-savings initiatives, lead system troubleshooting, commission new machinery, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and efficiency throughout Operations. Must portray excellent communication and professionalism, and be OK 5 days a week onsite in Milford, CT.

Day to Day:
- Provide technical support for all equipment within the plant to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to support cost improvement projects by optimizing machine and equipment efficiencies.
- Manage projects and monitor the status of all elements affecting the outcome of the program, including costs, timing, and performance.
- Design, develop, and modify control systems for prototype, new and existing production equipment.
- Understand specifications (corporate and plant), standards, and local and/or national electric codes for use in designing hardware schematics and software programs.
- Check/Construct electrical schematic packages by laying out I/O, designing magnetic circuits, fusing, control panels, bill of materials and cable layouts.
- Research, develop and customize software structure and writing logic from scratch.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) for automated equipment.
- Perform commissioning and debugging for intermediate to complex machine applications.
- Identify system performance measures and the actions needed to make improvements.
- Develop new product and process specifications and test methods for new and existing equipment.
- Conduct tests on new designs and equipment.
- Train and mentor members of the electrical engineering team and skilled trade personnel.

Required Skills & Experience

- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience supporting manufacturing and/or automated assembly control systems.
- Expert EE fundamentals and manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradly, Siemens, TI/CTI) and HMI programming.
- Strong knowledge of servo motion systems (Indramat), machine vision (Cognex), and data collection systems (Ignition, Kepware).
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities with electrical and mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of communications (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, Modbus, RS-232, RS-485).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Robotics experience (Fanus, Kuka).
- Experience with injection molding controllers (Engel, Ferromatik).
- CPG industry experience.
