Job Description

A local accounting firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team in Hartford or Hamden, CT or Holyoke, MA. This role is hybrid and the ideal candidate must be in a drivable distance to the office to come on site if needed. This is open because the company is looking to grow their management and leadership team. The Tax manager would be responsible for managing large tax projects, including tax preparation, planning, and filing. The Tax Manager is expected to make recommendations and suggest measures to improve procedures. They would be monitoring budget throughout tax engagements through reporting, analytics, and using their technical expertise to ensure tax profitability. The Tax Manager would be required to travel to meetings outside of the office and have a defined marketing plan to build client relationships and their book of business. They will be responsible for establishing project budgets for tax services and managing those budgets throughout the entire engagement process. This individual must be CPA Certified and have a minimum of 5 years' experience in tax compliance. Previous experience working with manufacturing, non-profit organizations, financial institutions, or real estate companies is desired. The ideal individual would have previous experience working within teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills & Experience

-5+ years' experience in Tax Compliance

-CPA Certification

-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Experience working in Public Accounting
