Job Description
A healthcare client is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to work remote. This team is building a cloud‑native SaaS platform within a well‑funded, startup‑style environment, currently focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with AWS coming online soon as the platform scales. This is a hands‑on cloud engineering role suited for someone who thrives in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments and can operate as a “jack of all trades,” shifting priorities as needed to keep delivery on track. The engineer will build, scale, and support the SaaS platform; design and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily in GCP with upcoming AWS expansion; drive automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives; and support large Kubernetes (GKE) environments. The role also involves close collaboration with internal engineers and external vendors to deliver and transition cloud environments, ensure security, compliance, and scalability requirements are met, and continue internal development as vendor engagement ramps and key milestones are reached.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experiece working as a Hands‑on Cloud Engineer
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Cloud‑native architecture experience (required)
Infrastructure as Code experience – Terraform required
Experience building and supporting automation‑heavy environments
Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, ideally GKE
Background working on the infrastructure side (scaling, reliability, delivery)
Knowledge of security and compliance, including:
Zero Trust principles
HIPAA or regulated environments
Experience working in a SaaS environment
Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment
Ability to clearly articulate what they personally delivered (hands‑on ownership)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
AWS experience (future state ~70% GCP / 30% AWS)
Experience with Vertex AI or Google AI services/APIs
Exposure to AI‑related infrastructure or deliverables
Startup or startup‑within‑enterprise experience
Experience ramping environments with vendors and then owning them internally
Strong collaboration experience with cloud security teams
