Required Skills & Experience
We are seeking an experienced Kafka Engineer to join a large‑scale healthcare modernization and cloud migration initiative. This multi‑year program is focused on transforming how core transactional data is accessed, governed, and consumed across the enterprise by migrating legacy, on‑premise workloads to a modern, cloud‑based architecture.
The Kafka Engineer will play a key role in building and supporting a centralized, near‑real‑time transactional data platform that enables downstream applications and APIs to consume data efficiently without direct dependencies on legacy systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on complex, high‑impact modernization efforts and building resilient, event‑driven systems at enterprise scale.
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will design Kafka topics and event schemas, build and maintain producers and consumers, and support integrations with cloud services and downstream systems. You will help identify and mitigate technical risks, support production issues, and continuously improve platform performance, resilience, and observability. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure streaming solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, data governance requirements, and long‑term modernization goals.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
