Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer for an aerospace manufacturing company based in East Hartford, CT. This individual will support the Materials Processing Group, which is responsible for non-metallic materials used across aerospace programs, including polymers, composites, carbon-based materials, adhesives, and related materials. The Project Engineer will play a key role in coordinating projects, managing schedules, and supporting cross-functional initiatives that impact multiple aerospace platforms. This position is heavily focused on project and program management and will work closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and program stakeholders to ensure successful execution of critical material-related initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Manage and coordinate projects supporting the Polymer Materials Group.
- Track project schedules, deliverables, milestones, and funding requirements.
- Support program planning and execution across multiple aerospace platforms.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address material-related challenges and priorities.
- Assist in managing a portfolio of over 200 materials, ensuring proper tracking and coordination.
- Help mitigate supply chain impacts and material restrictions affecting production and program schedules.
- Utilize SAP and Microsoft Project to monitor project progress and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Coordinate procurement-related activities including purchase orders, shipping, receiving, and material tracking.
- Prepare project updates and communicate status to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 4–7 years of experience in project engineering, program management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience using SAP and Microsoft Project.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with polymers, composites, adhesives, or other non-metallic materials.
- Experience supporting supply chain, procurement, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing operations.
- Project management experience within an engineering environment.
