Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Lab Technician at a large aerospace company located in East Hartford. This is a hands-on technical role involves mechanical aptitude and experience working with polymers. The day-to-day work involves a mix of sample preparation, mechanical testing (including destructive methods), and lab work with polymer composites and elastomers. Candidates typically hold an associate degree in a technical field such as engineering or mechanics. The role emphasizes mechanical testing and fabrication. On-the-job training is provided, for the first 7-9 months. Strong data collection skills, the ability to follow instructions, and clear communication with engineers are essential. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of complex fabrications, and comfortable working in a lab environment focused on testing and machining.

Required Skills & Experience

- 1-4 years of experience in a hands-on role
- Experience with mechanical or fabrication work
- Data collection experience
- Ability to follow complex communication in a lab environment
- Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Associates or technical degree in a relevant field
- Experience working with Polymer, Elastomers, or other plastic composites
- Experience testing materials under tensile and other stressors
