Job Description
Insight Global is seeking to hire an Experimental Test Technician at a large aerospace company. This hands-on technician role supports mechanical testing of advanced materials used in turbine engines, focusing on preparing and handling test specimens, setting up and maintaining custom test rigs and control systems, and executing a variety of mechanical tests such as wear, fatigue, tensile, and creep under simulated engine conditions. The technician will analyze failed parts, assist in root cause investigations, and ensure accurate test execution and documentation. Work includes supporting lifecycle testing, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining one-off test systems in a non-union environment, particularly within the tribology lab where wear and fatigue behavior are evaluated.

Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience in a mechanical environment
- Required backgrounds: Automotive mechanic, machinist, machine shop, fabrications, hands on mechanical hobbies
- Must be a great collaborator and problem solver
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Hydraulics, Electricals, or Robotics
- CAD experience
- Data analysis or automation experience
- Controls system experience (MTS tensile testing/ flex test)
