Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to join a hydrogen fuel cell company in East Hartford, CT. In this role, you will focus on designing and integrating fuel cell systems into microgrid solutions for data centers. You will be responsible for optimizing fuel cell performance, ensuring seamless operation within microgrid architectures, and maintaining required certifications. Your expertise in power electronics, control systems, and energy management will be crucial in developing reliable, scalable, and sustainable power solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically with batteries, renewables, data centers, or microgrid systems.
- Proficiency in power electronics and control systems.
- Strong understanding of inverter operating modes and grid interconnection requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with energy management systems (EMS).
- Familiarity with data center operations and requirements.
- Knowledge of renewable energy sources (e.g., solar) and energy storage systems (e.g., batteries).
- Familiar with codes such as, UL1741, IEEE, 1547, UL954, USG
- Previous experience in a similar role within the energy sector.
