Job Description

Insight Global seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of new products and enhancements within an automotive division of an Engineering client. In this role, you will own the design process from concept through assembly and functional testing, applying strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and a commitment to continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead multiple components of a project or a complex piece of a larger program
• Work independently as a fully developed engineering professional
• Validate system and product capabilities through feasibility studies and testing
• Collaborate with Engineers and technical teams to resolve issues, establish operating procedures, and share technical insight
• Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, and technical data to assess feasibility, cost, and maintainability
• Support prototype and pre‑production manufacturing activities
• Prepare engineering and product reports summarizing data, trends, and outcomes
• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and QA to resolve engineering issues, documentation needs, and BOM updates

Required Skills & Experience

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience, or MS with 5–6+ years
• Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
• Proficient with SolidWorks®, AutoCAD®, and common office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience working with PDM/PLM systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Background supporting prototype or pre‑production manufacturing
Experience generating engineering and product reports from collected data
Cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Test, Electrical Engineering, and QA teams
Familiarity with feasibility analysis, testing methods, and product capability validation
Hands-on experience with component design using injection molding, die casting, machining, vacuum forming, and sheet‑metal fabrication
