Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Network Automation Engineer with strong experience in enterprise environments and advanced Python programming skills. This role requires deep expertise in core networking, network automation, and troubleshooting across complex, high-performance networks. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader capable of mentoring others and driving innovation in network operations and design.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in core networking (routing and switching)

Advanced understanding of load balancing technologies (e.g., F5)

Tier 3 support experience with networking technologies such as DHCP, DNS, and firewalls

Strong Python programming skills for automation and integration

Advanced knowledge of network design, operation, and automation

Experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and Multicast

Hands-on experience with Arista EOS, Infoblox, and Palo Alto firewalls

Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Experience supporting large, multi-site enterprise networks (data centers and/or branch locations)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Ekahau, packet capture tools, NetFlow, NetMRI, Splunk, Endace, CA Spectrum, ThousandEyes

Familiarity with encoder/decoder technologies such as Haivision, AWS Elemental, and Teradek

Background in live sports streaming or broadcast-grade IP networks

Experience authoring network hardening guides, runbooks, and compliance documentation

Exposure to Agile/Scrum workflows and cross-functional collaboration

Prior work with organizations in healthcare or media sectors
