Job Description
A high-power defense laser company located in Longmont, CO is seeking to hire a Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic team. This individual will support the assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems while managing daily priorities to meet project schedules. Responsibilities include building and documenting assemblies, coordinating materials and workspaces, operating hand and power tools, and supporting thermal management systems, cleanroom operations, and other facility-related activities. This role also requires up to 50% travel to support testing and integration efforts at customer or remote sites. When not traveling, this person will sit onsite in the Longmont office 5 days/week. This role is a 6-month contract to hire model, with opportunity to convert to a permanent company employee on or after the 6-month mark. The target hourly pay range for the contract portion of the role is $30.00-$44.00/hr, with conversion salary coming in at or above that pay rate.

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience working with mechanical systems, preferably related to high-powered laser technology
Proficiency using hand and power tools
Ability to interpret schematics and drawings
Experience assembling and testing mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
Some experience with a CAD software, Solidworks preferred
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Laser specific assembly and testing experience
