Job Description

A company that develops high-energy laser systems for the Department of Defense is looking for a Quality Engineer to help ensure products meet quality and reliability standards throughout the manufacturing process. This person will work closely with engineering and production teams to identify issues, improve processes, and support the delivery of highly reliable defense systems.
The primary responsibilities include:

Inspecting hardware and reviewing test and quality documentation
Investigating product issues and driving corrective actions
Supporting qualification testing, process improvements, and quality initiatives
Tracking quality trends and partnering with teams to improve performance

This person will play a key role in ensuring high-power laser systems are built safely, reliably, and in compliance with military and industry standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in quality engineering, root cause analysis, and manufacturing environments. They should be comfortable working with cross-functional teams to solve problems and improve product quality.


The salary range for this position is between $75,000-$104,000, but compensation details will be based on previous work experience, hard and soft skills, and interview outcomes. This role will require a 5 days/week in-office schedule in the company's Longmont, CO office to experience the team's collaborative culture, and build relationships with peers and project teams.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably supporting PCB, cable harness, or similar hardware products
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Defense or aerospace manufacturing experience
Experience with photonics, electro-optical systems, or high-energy lasers
Familiarity with Altium Designer or SolidWorks
Active U.S. DoD Security Clearance
