Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a GIS Analyst to join their growing GIS team in support of critical enterprise geospatial systems and operational initiatives. This individual will play a key role in supporting ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal environments, geodatabases, GIS applications, and day-to-day GIS operations. The team is currently experiencing increased demand related to system support, application development, data management, and operational requests, creating an opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.
This role will work closely with GIS leadership and internal business groups to maintain and improve GIS applications, support geospatial databases, troubleshoot system issues, assist with workflow automation efforts, and help address a backlog of operational requests and ServiceNow tickets. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded GIS professional who understands enterprise GIS environments, can communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and is interested in growing into a long-term strategic role within the organization.
Pay for this position is between $35 and $45 / HR
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Portal environments
Assist with GIS application development, configuration, and enhancements
Maintain and support geodatabases and enterprise GIS datasets
Troubleshoot GIS system issues and provide technical support to end users
Manage and resolve GIS operational requests and ServiceNow tickets
Develop and maintain scripts that automate GIS workflows and data management processes
Collaborate with business users, GIS staff, IT teams, and leadership to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Perform GIS data quality assurance and data maintenance activities
Document processes, workflows, and technical procedures
Support ongoing GIS modernization and system improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of professional GIS experience supporting enterprise GIS environments
Experience administering or supporting ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Portal
Experience developing, configuring, or supporting GIS applications
Understanding of geodatabases, GIS data management, and enterprise GIS architecture
Experience working with relational databases, including SQL-based environments
Basic scripting or automation experience using Python and/or SQL
Experience troubleshooting GIS systems, resolving operational issues, and supporting end users
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both business users and leadership
Experience collaborating across multiple departments and stakeholder groups
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience supporting local, state, or federal government organizations
Oracle database experience
Experience with ArcGIS Server administration
Experience supporting enterprise GIS integrations and web services
ServiceNow ticketing experience
Experience developing or improving GIS workflows and standard operating procedures
Knowledge of GIS data quality control and governance practices
Experience supporting emergency management, public sector, utility, or infrastructure-focused GIS initiatives
