Our client is a Fortune 100 telecommunications company, and their Optical network team is responsible for architectural design development, delivery of network and optical transport technologies for core backbone, metro and commercial networks. This team performs evaluation and testing on all hardware and software components for new product offerings, network growth and/or customer specific applications.
On a day-to-day basis, candidates will:
Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution.
Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards.
Develops and implements approved methods of procedure (MOPs).
Actively provide testing for Ciena and Infinera hardware and software.
Assist significantly in speeding up testing and certifications.
Ensure there are no delays in the certification of new hardware and software.
Evaluates new optical products performs network problem resolution (Cisco NCS2K, Infinera DTN-X, Nokia PSS-1830, Ciena 6500 S)
Ability to conduct lab testing of software and new hardware in a non-prod lab environment.
The pay rate for this role varies depending on level and years of experience and will range from $50-$53/hour.
