Job Description

The Data Architect will lead end‑to‑end architecture for securely moving operational technology data from on‑premises environments into our Databricks cloud, enabling governed analytics and AI readiness across the enterprise. This role partners with business and technical leaders to evaluate solution options, design robust data movement and modeling patterns, and ensure networking and cloud security controls are implemented by design. The architect will be a key member of the Data Portfolio, collaborating across Customer, Operations, Infrastructure, and Security architecture teams to deliver resilient, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience within Data Architecture
- Experience with Historian Systems: OSI PI, AVEVA PI, AVEVA Connect
- AWS Cloud Environment Experience; VPCs, subnets, routing, IAM, KMS, private connectivity, encryption
- Databricks Platform experience; Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Lakehouse layers
- Experience moving industrial operational technology environments from on prem environments into an AWS hosted environment
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with senior leaders across business and technology; ability to influence, negotiate trade‑offs, and drive decisions with clarity.
- Familiarity with AI platform needs and ML lifecycle requirements, including feature engineering, data contracts, lineage, and model observability.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience integrating AVEVA PI AF context with cloud lakehouse models
- Familiarity with AVEVA Data Views linked to Databricks for near‑real‑time analytics.
- Prior work aligning pipeline designs to Databricks consumption patterns and governance controls; contributions to portfolio standards or reference architectures.
- Background in regulated utility or industrial environments with strong safety, reliability, and compliance requirements.
