Job Description

Insight Globals top client is looking for a Munitions Response Project Manager to join our expanding environmental team, which handles technical consulting projects nationwide. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects involving Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC). This role involves working on detailed and routine environmental tasks related to engineering, geology, biology, ecology, chemistry, and regulatory issues. It offers the chance to gain experience across various environmental projects, including restoration, remediation, compliance, NEPA assessments, and munitions response. Responsibilities may include project management, data analysis, scientific and technical report preparation, public involvement, field operations, proposal preparation, and training junior staff.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing munitions response projects (REQUIRED)
Ability to access federal military bases and premises
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DOD or USEPA projects under CERCLA
Experience managing munitions response projects involving AGC (Advanced Geophysical Classification) and GEEP
Professional licensure or certifications such as PE, PG, PMP, DABT, CEP
Masters or PhD degree

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and budgets
Lead project team members, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or risks
Track project expenses to ensure budget adherence
Communicate project status updates to stakeholders, including senior management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion
Conduct project evaluations and identify areas for improvement
Provide regular reports and documentation on project progress
Manage project submittals, including meeting minutes, monthly progress reports, work plans, and project reports
Develop and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships, assisting with contracts and procurement
Work with senior staff, project delivery teams, and project controls to document client-specific financial reporting, including managing purchase order requests and distributions
Assist senior staff in tracking project financials and identifying risks
Ensure compliance with project requirements and submittal deadlines
Execute and manage task orders while maintaining cost and schedule
Support broader assignments in conjunction with senior and project staff (engineers, geologists, biologists, ecologists, archaeologists)
Gather and correlate environmental data using established procedures
Work on routine environmental assignments involving various scientific fields; some tasks may involve conducting calculations and simple tests

Travel Requirements:
Periodic business travel is required, expected to be about 25-30% of the year, including overnight travel. Travel will involve fieldwork at project sites, client visits, and work at partner offices across the United States. Fieldwork may require walking over uneven terrain for up to 8 hours per day.
