Job Description

The Manager, Inside Plant (ISP) Engineering leads the design, delivery, and commissioning of all in-building communications infrastructure across data center and mission-critical facilities. This role oversees structured cabling systems, MDF/IDF environments, racks and pathways, signal systems, and safety technologies from pre-construction through operational handover, ensuring quality, compliance, and schedule adherence.

As a player-coach leader, the Manager oversees a team of technical specialists while partnering with construction, operations, network engineering, and external vendors. This individual establishes engineering standards, drives contractor performance, and ensures scalable, repeatable infrastructure deployments across multiple sites.

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, Construction Management, or related field.
-10+ years of experience in structured cabling, inside plant engineering, low-voltage infrastructure, or data center construction.
-3+ years of experience leading technical teams, contractors, and infrastructure projects.
-Strong expertise in fiber and copper cabling, MDF/IDF design, racks, pathways, and physical network infrastructure.
-Experience managing vendors, project schedules, budgets, and quality programs.
-Knowledge of industry standards such as TIA, BICSI, NEC, and related low-voltage design frameworks.
-Experience reviewing engineering drawings, testing documentation, commissioning activities, and as-built records.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience supporting data centers, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale campuses, or large capital projects.
-Familiarity with DAS, ERRCS/BDA, in-building wireless coverage, and life-safety systems.
-Experience with high-density fiber environments, MPO/MTP cabling, and AI/GPU infrastructure deployments.
-Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Visio, or similar design tools.
-Experience developing engineering standards, QA/QC programs, and asset management processes.
-BICSI RCDD, PMP, OSHA 30, FOA, or manufacturer cabling certifications.
-Experience supporting multiple concurrent construction projects across geographically distributed sites.
