Job Description

We are seeking two Market Fiber Engineers to join a telecommunications and Fiber Company. The Market Fiber Engineer designs and documents physical fiber routes across the company network to support fiber-based services. This role focuses on route planning, path diversity, and maintaining accurate fiber and circuit inventory across long‑haul and metro networks. The engineer works cross‑functionally with Outside Plant, GIS, Sales Engineering, and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable, well‑documented fiber designs.

$50/hour
100% Remote (US‑based)
Standard hours: 8–4 or 9–5
Contract length: 1–2 years with intent to convert or extend

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience in fiber network design, route planning, and documentation (long‑haul and/or metro fiber)
- Working knowledge of fiber paths, segments, splicing, and path diversity
- Comfortable using GIS tools, design platforms, and telecom databases to document and manage fiber assets
Strong attention to detail when maintaining fiber inventory, routes, and circuit records
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, project, and operations teams
- Clear communicator with a team‑oriented, dependable work style
- Adaptable and quick to learn internal tools and processes; open to feedback

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Proficiency with MS Office (Visio preferred); Salesforce and GIS experience a plus
