Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an IR Missile Modeling Engineer to join a classified program to support Missile Tracking and Prediction. The position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base. This group is responsible for the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products. The IR Engineer role serves as a developer and verifier of kinematic threat models developed to support use cases for missile defense. Must be able to research, interpret, and verify parameters required to build and replicate signature models for all applicable objects within missile or space launch vehicle trajectories. This position requires a detail-oriented engineer who will be responsible for developing ballistic and advanced/hypersonic infrared hardbody threat models with little to no supervision for use in a variety of modeling and simulation tools/frameworks/media. Must be able to author highly technical Verification and Validation (V&V) documentation. Pay Range: $81-150k annually. Exact compensation will vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience

Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
Bachelors degree in engineering, aeronautics, physics, math or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Or masters degree in a forementioned field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
Strong knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics and experience using thermal analysis and/or IR signature prediction tools (ANSYS suite, TAITherm, Simcenter, OSC, Optisig, etc.)
CAD Experience (Ability to interpret, modify and create CAD packages based on provided intelligence data)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with IR sensors and processing related data files
Knowledge of atmospheric attenuation models (such as MODTRAN)
Programming background to include languages such as MATLAB and Python
Experience working with intelligence centers
Experience utilizing Matlab and/or LaTex is preferred.
