Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to support a critical national defense space communications program with one of our top aerospace and defense clients. This individual will serve as the senior technical authority leading the architecture, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of a large-scale MILSATCOM ground system. The ideal candidate is an accomplished technical leader with deep experience driving complex defense programs, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring technical excellence across the full system development lifecycle.

This position will pay between $164,900-266,800 annually.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
14+ years of related experience for Senior-level candidates or 20+ years for Principal-level candidates.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
7+ years of experience supporting programs of similar size and complexity.
Experience leading large-scale system architecture initiatives and technical program execution.
Strong understanding of MILSATCOM ground system architecture and development principles.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Proven success leading cross-functional engineering teams consisting of systems engineers, architects, developers, and testers.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting Protected Tactical Satellite (PATS) architecture and CONOPS.
Background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience with hardware and software development programs.
Experience supporting validation, verification, and deployment activities.
Knowledge of safety, cyber, reliability, maintainability, and human factors engineering.
Experience deploying solutions into Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) environments.
