Job Description
An employer based in Boulder, CO is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing customer focused team. The Cybersecurity Engineer will support a new U.S. Space Force satellite constellation by identifying, mitigating, and managing cybersecurity risks for a mission‑critical ground system supporting OPIR operations. This role partners closely with systems and engineering teams to design, harden, and deliver secure environments while ensuring compliance with RMF, DISA STIGs, and cybersecurity frameworks. Responsibilities include performing vulnerability scans, developing cyber plans and procedures, generating ATO documentation, and hardening complex environments across Linux, VMware, network, storage, and identity platforms. The engineer will also interface directly with government customers, requiring strong communication skills and attention to detail.
The position requires an active DoD Secret clearance, at least five years of cybersecurity engineering experience, and full‑time onsite work in Boulder, with OPIR mission experience considered a strong plus. This role is posted at $120k/yr - $160k/y based on tenure, skillset, skill level, and applicable educations/certifications.

Required Skills & Experience
Must hold DoD Secret Clearance, at minimum
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Computer Science (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education)
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in CyberSecurity Engineering
Experience with cyber tools, including ACAS and HBSS
Strong understanding of Cybersecurity frameworks and standards
Experience running DISA SCAP Scan and working with DISA STIGs for operating systems, network devices, and other infrastructure related services (LDAP, AD, ESXi, Virtual Machines)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Strong focus on internal and external customer success
Possess CompTIA Security+ and CISSP or similar certifications
Cybersecurity engineering experience with embedded systems development for DoD
