Job Description

A well established, 70 year old worldwide custom manufacturing company is looking for a Heat Treat Technician for permanent placement in their large, clean shop in Arvada, CO. We are open for a range of skill levels from slightly junior to more tenured, and you will have the opportunity to work hands on with an expert to enhance your metallurgy experience as it pertains to this industry. The Heat Treat Technician will play a crucial role in the metallurgy of components for use in industrial pump and compressor systems, which are custom engineered and built for oil and gas, chemical, hydrogen energy, and other growing industries. Responsibilities include 33% running the carburizing and draw furnaces, 33% lab work, and 33% verification and analysis or heart reports to create "recipes" for their current load. This person will start on 1st shift (6:00AM – 2:30PM) for at least the first year.

The position has room for advancement within the company. Salaries are based on applicable skill level. There is optional OT on weekends and holidays as you choose, but not required. Employees are eligible for health and dental benefits on day one, and will also be able to take advantage of a 401K with 60% match up to 6% and tuition reimbursement for continued education. PTO 80 hours, plus 48 hours sick and holidays (14 in a calendar year).

Required Skills & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent

5-7 years of experience with metallurgy - running heat furnaces, hardness testing, heat reports

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

Mechanical background and proven mechanical aptitude

Practice Lean manufacturing/six sigma methodology to maintain best in class work space, safety, and preventative maintenance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Degreed metallurgist preferred
