Our client, a large utility company based in the Bay Area, is seeking a Utility Asset Records Reviewer to support electric distribution asset review and inspection data validation efforts. This is a client-facing consulting role requiring strong attention to detail, comfort working with utility maps and structured data, and the ability to identify and document discrepancies while following established review procedures.
Responsibilities
Asset Records Review & Validation
• Review electric distribution asset records and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Compare information across inspection records, GIS data, work orders, construction documentation, maps, photographs, and other source materials.
• Identify missing, conflicting, outdated, or potentially inaccurate asset information.
• Evaluate asset attributes and ensure alignment with project review procedures.
• Apply established review logic to classify findings, exceptions, and escalation items.
Distribution Asset Review
• Support review of above-ground electric distribution assets, including poles, transformers, conductors, streetlights, switches, protective devices, and related equipment.
• Support review of underground distribution assets, including vaults, conduits, underground conductors, transformers, switchgear, and related facilities.
• Review asset locations, identifiers, equipment attributes, and inspection references for consistency and traceability.
• Escalate unclear asset configurations, missing documentation, or mapping discrepancies.
Documentation & Quality Control
• Document review findings using established templates, trackers, and workflows.
• Maintain accurate records of completed reviews, comments, exceptions, and escalations.
• Support audit-ready review processes and asset data quality initiatives.
• Participate in training sessions, quality reviews, calibration meetings, and process improvement activities.
Communication & Collaboration
• Communicate questions, blockers, and issues to project leadership in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with project teams and client stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and data security standards.

Required Skills & Experience
• 1+ years of experience in utility operations, infrastructure records, GIS, technical documentation, QA/QC, asset management, inspection support, or data validation preferred.
• Experience supporting utility, engineering, construction, telecommunications, water, gas, or electric infrastructure programs is a plus.
• Experience reviewing maps, drawings, spreadsheets, inspection records, work orders, or construction documentation is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, spreadsheets, inspection records, and utility asset information.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and data-quality issues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with GIS tools, work management systems, document repositories, or asset management systems is preferred.
