Job Description
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support distribution and substation design projects across utilities, municipalities, and private clients. This role focuses on medium- and high-voltage systems, power system modeling, relay protection, and grid modernization efforts, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and lead technical workstreams.
Key responsibilities include
• Design and support distribution and substation projects:
○ MV/LV transformers, switchgear, protection & control, service connections
• Perform power system studies using:
○ ETAP, SKM, CYME, ASPEN (load flow, short circuit, coordination)
• Design overhead and underground distribution systems:
○ Poles, conductors, transformers, switchgear, protective devices
• Develop and implement relay settings:
○ SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, ASPEN, or equivalent
• Troubleshoot relay, SCADA, and recloser protection issues with field teams
• Support BESS design and grid integration
• Coordinate with vendors and construction teams for procurement and installation
• Work with drafting teams on:
○ One-lines, plan & profiles, construction packages, specifications
• Collaborate with civil and multidisciplinary teams
• Mentor junior engineers and support internal knowledge sharing

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related)
• PE license
• 5+ years' experience in utility, consulting, or substation engineering
• Hands-on experience with:
○ Relay settings (SEL, GE, or equivalent)
○ Power system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, CYME, ASPEN)
• Strong understanding of distribution and substation infrastructure
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with SCADA integration and communications protocols
• Familiarity with civil/structural aspects of substations
• Exposure to - Grid modernization, renewables, microgrids, EV infrastructure
