Schedule: Onsite (office or project site) M-F, hours will vary based on project but around 8-5
Southland is seeking to hire 2 Senior Design Engineers who are experienced in working in design as an HVAC engineer to join their team in Union City, CA(1) and Garden Grove, CA(1).
Projects: hospitals, life science, pharmaceutical research, clean rooms, labs, UCSF campus stuff, airports (SFO)
Day to Day:
Serves as design professional at project team design meetings
Prepares complex preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc
Performs site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolves design issues during construction phase
Supervises or directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers in performing HVAC or other system designs
Provides conceptual design for specific project
