Job Description
We are seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join an enterprise Product Quality team supporting a high-visibility consumer electronics product. This role will backfill a team member on leave and play a critical role in ensuring product quality throughout manufacturing and launch.
The ideal candidate brings a structured problem-solving mindset, strong experience in hardware manufacturing environments, and the ability to investigate and resolve real-world quality issues (e.g., component or system failures such as camera malfunctions in wearable devices).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support structured problem-solving efforts for hardware quality issues identified during manufacturing, testing, or field use
- Apply industry-standard quality methodologies to investigate failures and drive corrective actions
- Analyze issues using tools such as: 8D (Eight Disciplines) problem solving, Structured Problem Solving, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Partner closely with manufacturing, process, design, and industrial engineering teams to resolve product quality concerns
- Support quality readiness and risk mitigation for a new consumer electronics product launch
- Identify root causes of defects and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Clearly document findings and communicate technical issues and resolutions to cross-functional stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in a Product Quality Engineer, or similar engineering role (Quality, Process, Manufacturing, Industrial, Design, etc.)
- Strong understanding of quality principles in hardware manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience with structured problem-solving methodologies
- Hands-on experience with 8D problem solving and FMEA or SPC
- Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and tools
- Ability to analyze real-world product failures and translate findings into actionable improvements
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical disciplines
- Prior experience working on consumer electronics products
