Job Description

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Data Intelligence Engineer I to support one of our top clients in an academic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data warehouse systems, transforming complex data sets into actionable insights, and ensuring that our data infrastructure supports key decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, experience in data modeling, and proficiency in database management systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting the university's mission by enhancing our data infrastructure to inform strategic decision-making and promote academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing and developing data warehouse solutions to support analytics needs.
• Collaborate with team members to gather data requirements for projects.
• Support the implementation of ETL processes under supervision.
• Help maintain database structures and optimize performance with guidance.
• Create simple data models and basic dashboards to visualize metrics.
• Participate in data quality checks to ensure integrity and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot basic issues related to data processing and storage.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in building and managing data warehouses
o Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and PowerBI or SigmaBI
o Familiarity with database management systems (SQL Server, MySQL, etc)
• Strong soft skills as this person will be collaborating and will need to build relationships with various departments
