Job Description

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist specializing in diabetes care, you will:

* Collaborate with nursing teams, interdisciplinary groups, and community resources to identify problems, develop effective plans, and make appropriate referrals.

* Design, implement, and evaluate cost-effective educational programs for diabetic patients, their families, and communities.

* Identify specific needs for professional development and maintain clinical competency.

* Integrate clinical research into your practice, both in clinical and educational roles, to ensure evidence-based nursing practices.

* Possess knowledge of glucose monitoring systems, insulin administration technology, and pharmacologic/nonpharmacologic treatments for diabetes and its complications.

* Serve as a valuable resource for care providers working with diabetic patients.

* Model indirect care for diabetic patients and educate patients, families, and staff on diabetic care needs using culturally sensitive methodologies and ethical practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Education Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)



Must Haves

Licenses and Certifications

* Nursing\RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure

* RD - Registered Dietitian required

* CDCES - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist required

* Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
