Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Strategy
Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT teams to align Workday solutions with business and compliance requirements.
Serve as the SME for payroll processes, systems, and best practices.
Translate payroll business needs into scalable technology solutions.
Support mergers and acquisitions by integrating payroll systems, migrating data, and aligning payroll processes.
Business Analysis & Planning
Gather, document, and analyze payroll and time management requirements.
Perform gap analysis and identify automation opportunities.
Support Payroll and Time & Absence product roadmaps and strategic initiatives.
Technology & Project Management
Lead payroll-related system enhancements, releases, and integrations.
Support payroll and HR technology projects from requirements through deployment.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to balance business priorities.
Manage payroll system integrations during M&A activities.
Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day administration of Workday Payroll and Time & Absence.
Configure payroll rules, earnings, deductions, taxes, and compliance settings.
Ensure accurate regular, off-cycle, and year-end payroll processing.
Troubleshoot payroll and system-related issues.
System Implementation & Enhancements
Support Workday implementations, upgrades, testing, and releases.
Configure Workday solutions and manage EIB data loads.
Drive process improvements, automation, and optimization initiatives.
Data Integrity & Reporting
Audit payroll data and ensure data integrity.
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and compliance reporting.
Support regulatory reporting requirements, including tax and wage reporting.
Leadership & Communication
Communicate project progress and strategic initiatives to leadership.
Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to peers and stakeholders.
Influence technology prioritization and payroll system strategy.
Compliance & Audit
Ensure payroll processes comply with laws, regulations, and internal controls.
Support audits and maintain process documentation.
Manage compliance-related requirements and reporting activities.

Required Skills & Experience
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
8+ years of progressively responsible experience in HRIS, payroll systems, or business analysis roles.
Workday Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
Strong hands-on experience with Workday Time & Absence.
In-depth knowledge of Workday HCM and related HRIS modules.
Experience configuring payroll processes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and compliance rules.
Experience with Workday reporting and analytics.
Business Analysis
Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst supporting Workday environments.
Expertise gathering requirements, documenting processes, and conducting gap analysis.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Integrations & Data Management
Experience with Workday integrations.
Experience performing data migrations and EIB data loads.
Knowledge of payroll interfaces and third-party provider integrations.
Compliance & Payroll Knowledge
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, compliance requirements, and payroll best practices.
Experience supporting payroll audits and controls.
Core Competencies

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and projects.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Advanced degree (Master's or related graduate degree).
Workday Payroll Certification.
Experience supporting multi-state payroll operations.
Experience supporting global payroll operations.
Experience with tax vendor integrations and third-party payroll providers.
Direct experience supporting mergers and acquisitions.
Strong project management experience in enterprise HRIS environments.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven organizations.
Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation and optimization.
