Job Description

This role will primarily support manufacturing process improvement efforts by partnering closely with the manufacturing floor and working alongside the manager. The main focus will be conducting time studies, analyzing sub assembly operations, and supporting value stream mapping (VSM) efforts to better understand capacity and flow at a detailed level. This individual will also support Lean and Six Sigma Yellow Belt initiatives by coaching teams through improvement projects and helping implement CI tools.
This is an entry to mid level role with strong hands on exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

• Conduct detailed time studies on the manufacturing floor to understand cycle times, constraints, and inefficiencies
• Analyze sub assembly operations to break down workflows and identify capacity opportunities
• Support value stream mapping (VSM) activities with a focus on capacity analysis and line balancing
• Partner with manufacturing teams to identify improvement opportunities at a high level and progressively deeper detail
• Support Yellow Belt teams by coaching, guiding, and helping implement CI tools on active projects
• Participate in Gemba walks and support governance activities related to Lean initiatives
• Create and maintain process maps, analyses, and presentations using Microsoft tools
• Communicate findings clearly to cross functional stakeholders and leadership

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in, process excellence, continuous improvement, manufacturing operations, etc.
• Foundational understanding of Six Sigma / Lean process improvement concepts including but not limited to capacity analysis and line balancing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Visio, Excel and Airtable
• Willingness and ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Santa Clara, CA
• Strong communication and presentation skills
o Demonstrated leadership skills or ability to influence stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher)
• Experience in medical device manufacturing
• Experience with capital equipment or capital systems
• Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments
