Job Description
As a Bioinformatics Software Engineer in Test, you will collaborate with bioinformatics scientists, software engineers, and system architects to design, validate, and test analytical pipelines that support next‑generation sequencing (NGS) platforms. In this role, you will develop scalable and reusable computational tools, write automated tests, and verify the performance and accuracy of complex bioinformatics algorithms. You will analyze large‑scale sequencing datasets, troubleshoot discrepancies, and provide actionable recommendations to improve scientific and technical robustness. You will participate in requirements discussions, architecture reviews, and dry‑run and formal verification testing, ensuring all workflows follow established SDLC best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, or related field
• 6+ years of hands‑on bioinformatics experience
• Strong Python programming skills, including automation and test development
• Deep understanding of NGS data, bioinformatics algorithms, and underlying scientific formulas
• Experience building, validating, or testing bioinformatics pipelines
• Ability to verify software and write automated tests for analytical workflows
• Strong Linux systems experience
• Familiarity with SDLC practices and working cross‑functionally with scientists and engineers
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, or related field
• Exposure to systems engineering concepts for cluster‑run software
• Familiarity with DevOps practices
• HPC cluster experience
• Prior work with physical hardware–based compute environments
