Evergreen is seeking a highly skilled Water Quality Specialist to act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for water quality projects within PG&E territory or specific counties. The ideal candidate will own the project lifecycle from start to finish, including permitting and compliance, and will have a strong understanding of water quality requirements and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Ownership: Manage water quality projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Permitting and Compliance: Understand and apply the requirements of construction general permits and other water quality permits, including storm water and dewatering permits.
Team Management: Lead a team of storm water vendors, write the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and coordinate with vendors for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC).
SWPPP Development: Develop and implement comprehensive SWPPPs, ensuring all necessary measures are in place to prevent storm water pollution during construction activities. This includes identifying potential sources of pollution, outlining best management practices (BMPs), and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Vendor Coordination: Determine the need for Storm Water Improvement Plans (SWIP), obtain estimates from vendors, and oversee the documentation process through QA/QC teams.
Site Management: Coordinate site walks, project kick-off meetings, and desktop work, with occasional field visits.
Salesforce Utilization: Utilize Salesforce for project management and tracking.
Water Permitting Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of water permitting, particularly in upland areas and water crossings/bridges.

Extensive experience in water quality permitting and compliance, with a focus on storm water and dewatering permits.
In-depth knowledge of construction general permits and the permitting process.
Strong project management skills, ability to lead and coordinate teams, and proficiency in Salesforce.
Relevant degree in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field.
Self-starter with a strong understanding of water quality requirements, able to work independently without extensive training.
Qualified Stormwater Practitioner certification.
Experience with the California State Water Resources Control Board Construction General Permit.
