Job Description

1. Loads system-level controller software.
2. Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators, etc.) and completes all required commissioning documentation.
3. Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
4. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
5. Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
6. Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
7. Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
8. Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

Required Skills & Experience

For ST I: Demonstrated technical aptitude. Able to use hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, etc.). Basic computer skills required. Attention to detail. Good communication and listening skills. Depending on location, the mounting and termination of low voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.
For ST II: All of the above plus 2 years of experience commissioning electronic and/or mechanical systems. Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems. Proficient with test equipment and software tools related to commissioning of controls systems. Basic understanding of electrical circuitry as they pertain to HVAC controls and their operation.
For ST III: All of the above plus 4 years of experience installing and commissioning electronic and/or mechanical systems. Demonstrated high level of knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuitry, and HVAC controls. Proficiency with the engineering process to include the use of project level tools for generating collateral and documenting job progress. Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently startup and commission more advanced controls systems. Provides mentoring and basic leadership to entry level technicians as assigned.
