Job Description

As a T/PGM for Network Service Delivery (Colocation) you will manage the delivery of large scale network infrastructure services, of varying complexity, purchased from 3rd party vendors and suppliers nationwide. You will work closely with the design and technical negotiation team to assess leased dark fiber, bandwidth & colocation requirements to support new capacity demands and understand the terms of new contracts including delivery targets and other technical requirements. The T/PGM will be responsible for creating detailed scopes of work to guide build outs within new and existing locations. You will manage all aspects of the Colocation deployment process with the vendor to include: site surveys, vendor data management, space and power design, punch-out and final acceptance to ensure facilities are delivered on schedule and meet technical specifications. T/Program manager will be responsible for keeping downstream teams apprised of delivery status and escalate up vendor management chains if delivery time lines are at risk.

Responsibilities:
Manage third party vendors and drive the delivery of large scale network infrastructure projects involving colocation in vendor data centers from inception through installation. Ensure colocation deliverables are delivered on schedule and meet technical specifications.
Prepare drawings, maps, scopes of work, BOMs and other materials to clearly define critical project requirements and deliverables for external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Lead kickoff and regular project status meetings with vendors while keeping downstream teams at GFiber aware of project and delivery status. Manage exceptions, mitigate risks, coordinate and communicate across the organization.
Responsible for ongoing vendor performance management handling escalations related to quality and performance.
Administer customer portals for data center vendors and manage access to data centers for GFiber personnel
Manage service orders to augment and reconfigure rackspace and power. Includes gathering technical requirements from internal customers and establishing schedule targets and pricing with vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or at least 8 years in a telecom-related field.
Extensive technology related program and project management experience.
Extensive experience designing rackspace and power distribution in a data center environment, including both AC and DC power distribution, planning of network equipment placement, selecting and ordering materials.
Strong knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic cable, including design and construction methods for conduits/conveyances, splicing, termination and testing.
A deep understanding of interconnectivity requirements within datacenters and carrier hotels (to include: cabling (cross connects, bulk, structured, riser, patching), building MPOEs, risers and MMR details.
Experience reading and producing highly detailed, technical scopes of work.
Strong written, verbal and graphical communication skills, with great attention to detail.
Strong background working with spreadsheets, databases, and project management tools.

Required Skills & Experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with construction of commercial buildings and/or public utility infrastructure
Experience with facility management, including design and maintenance of power and HVAC systems
Familiarity with fiber optic testing methods, including OTDR and power meter
Experience with CAD, GIS or similar tools for producing engineering drawings
Experience installing rackmounted network or computer hardware in a data center environment, including best practices for cable management, labeling and change management
Contract Negotiation experience a plus.
