Fortune 500 client is looking for an Firmware Staff Engineer for their site in San Jose, CA. This client is leading company in the Aerospace and Defense, communications, enterprise healthcare, industrial, capital equipment and energy industries to deliver solutions for their most complex challenges in manufacturing hardware solutions. You will be joining the next generation data center and AI compute team that is responsible for designing, developing and testing software that drives highly sensitive data center compute racks including GPUs, CPUs, and AI accelerator requirements. The idea candidate develops, debugs, tests, deploys, and supports code to be deployed in systems/products/equipment for various applications. You will write, debug and maintain software in C/C++ languages at various levels in the hierarchy (from firmware to application). The staff engineer works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development.

10+ years of experience in developing software components for orchestration platforms
Operating system knowledge: Experience with Linux driver kernel development is a must. Candidates should have strong experience in Linux Kernel memory management, interrupts, IOMMU, CPU/GPU
Strong programming skills in languages like C/C++, Python
Experience with data center deployments: Prior experience in data center architectures, developing and maintaining software for deployments is a plus
Strong understanding of cloud computing architectures and services is a plus
i2c, spi, and/or uart experience is a plus
Previous experience working with/for companies such as: Dell, HP, Lenovo, Cisco, Arista, INTEL
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
