Job Description
We’re seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client’s growing Supply Chain Engineering team in the Life Sciences sector. This is an onsite role requiring daily collaboration with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D. The engineer will investigate non-conforming materials and part failures, working with prototype analog/digital circuits, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Responsibilities include defining electrical subsystem requirements and ensuring compliance with evolving global safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities Include:
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure traceability of components
• Manage End-of-Life (EOL) components, including running design verification protocols and updating BOM drawings for new components
• Provide hands-on support on the manufacturing floor, addressing electronics and engineering issues
o Investigate PCBA failures (e.g., power supplies, hard drives) and perform root cause analysis
• Sustain production operations by creating rework instructions, writing technical reports, and reviewing documentation for accuracy
o Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers (MEs) on issues such as grounding or chassis-related failures
• Develop and maintain test fixtures, including functional and bed-of-nails fixtures

Required Skills & Experience
o 2+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in a production or manufacturing environment
o Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes
o Expertise in troubleshooting electronics and component-level debugging, including printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and layout
o Familiarity with DFMs and best practices for board layouts using tools such as Cadence, Altium, or OrCAD
o Ability to update schematics
o Strong communication skills, with experience interfacing directly with suppliers
o Ability to work onsite in Milpitas, CA, five days per week
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in the medical device industry
• Background in regulated environments (medical devices, government, semiconductor, chip design)
• Knowledge of both digital and analog PCBA
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience with a Six Sigma, Process Excellence, or LEAN methodology mindset
o Ability to leverage data for problem-solving
• Familiarity with laser optic devices
• Experience collaborating with international suppliers, particularly in efforts to scale circuit boards for global markets
