Job Description
This role is centered on validating and testing data center network designs that support critical applications, servers, and cloud workloads. The engineer works closely with customers to ensure their data center networks are built correctly, can scale, and will perform reliably once deployed. They design and run detailed validation tests in lab environments that simulate real production data centers, identify potential performance issues or design gaps, and work with Cisco engineering and delivery teams to resolve them. In this highly visible, customer facing role, the engineer also advises customers on modern data center architectures and emerging technologies, helping prevent outages, improve efficiency, and reduce risk before systems go live.
Day to Day: Insight Global is hiring a Data Center Network Engineer for a major client operating in the technology services space. The Network Engineer will work directly with customers and stakeholders to validate next generation data center and routing solutions prior to deployment. Your day to day work will include leading validation engagements, gathering and analyzing requirements, building lab environments, and authoring and executing detailed test plans. You will identify design gaps or risks, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate closely with engineering, delivery, and solution architecture teams to drive resolution. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers accelerate adoption of new platforms while continuously improving validation efficiency and supporting future initiatives and business growth. This is a remote role in Colombia.

Required Skills & Experience
• 3+ years' network engineering experience
• Strong experience with Cisco Nexus data center platforms (N9K focus).
• Proven solution validation and testing experience in customer or lab environments.
• L2/L3 networking and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS).
• Demonstrated success in customer facing consulting or TAC style roles.
• Solid troubleshooting skills across complex data center networks.
• Clear, professional written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• CCNA or CCNP certifications
• Experience with data center architectures (ACI, EVPN VXLAN, tiered DC designs).
• Automation or scripting exposure (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Familiarity with virtualization, containers, or compute platforms (VMware, Kubernetes, UCS).
• Experience with industry test tools (Spirent, Ixia).
